Fair Play Policy
Effective date: April 15, 2026
Reversi is committed to a fair, competitive, and enjoyable experience for every player. This Fair Play Policy explains the conduct we expect in rated and competitive play, how we enforce it, and what to do if your account has been flagged. It forms part of, and should be read together with, our Terms of Service.
1. What we expect
Rated games, tournaments, puzzles, and the leaderboard only mean something when every result is earned. You agree to play using your own skill and judgment, on a single account that represents you.
2. Prohibited conduct
In rated or competitive play, you agree not to:
- Use external engines, bots, solvers, or any AI assistance to choose your moves.
- Manipulate your rating through intentional losing (sandbagging), collusion with other players, or multi-accounting.
- Exploit bugs or glitches to gain an unfair advantage.
- Deliberately disconnect, stall, or waste time to avoid a loss or to frustrate an opponent.
3. Automated detection
We use automated anti-cheat systems that review play for the patterns described above. To keep these safeguards effective, we do not publish the specific signals or thresholds they rely on.
4. Sanctions
Where we identify a violation, we may apply one or more of the following, in proportion to its severity and history:
- A fair-play warning.
- A rating adjustment or reset.
- A temporary restriction from rated play, tournaments, or the leaderboard.
- A permanent ban from competitive features or from the App.
Enforcement is applied at our reasonable discretion. Accounts that are shared or created to evade a restriction may be sanctioned together.
5. If your account has been flagged
If you see a Fair Play notice or your account has been restricted, it means our systems identified activity inconsistent with this policy. Casual, unrated play against the computer generally remains available during a rated-play restriction.
If you believe a decision was made in error, you can submit an appeal from the restriction screen inside the App, or contact us at the address below. We review appeals and will correct any mistake we find.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Fair Play Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page with a revised effective date. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
